Structural Engineer

Salary Range: $116,000 - $152,000

Location: Pleasanton, CA

Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer with a strong background in delivering engineering services from conceptual design through construction completion. This role requires independent execution, expert-level technical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead project planning, coordination, and execution for complex or multiple simultaneous projects
• Independently develop conceptual designs and construction drawings
• Collaborate with engineering managers and cross-functional teams to support project decisions
• Provide field engineering support including trade coordination, scheduling, and troubleshooting
• Ensure compliance with building codes, structural guidelines, and best practices
• Perform calculations and prepare PE-stamped installation packages for equipment anchorage, vibration isolation, seismic restraints, and structural supports
• Design supplemental steel structures and equipment skids
• Create standardized templates for supports and bracing to optimize cost and efficiency
• Maintain project schedules and meet deadlines
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; must be willing to obtain
• 8+ years of structural design experience
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, building codes, and seismic design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar drafting software
• Experience with 3D modeling software
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift/move up to 20 lbs occasionally
• Visual and auditory acuity for detailed work and communication
• Regular sitting, standing, walking, and use of hands
• Reliable attendance required
